Welcome to Always Learning: Reflections, Resources & a Whole Lot of EdTech Magic ✨

Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

This blog, Always Learning, was born from a shift in my role as an educator. For years, I’ve shared my love of math over on Mathsational, where I posted creative lesson ideas, games, and tech tips designed to make high school math more student-centered and joyful. But lately, my work has expanded, and so has my thinking.

As a technology ambassador, I now spend more time collaborating with teachers across grade levels and subject areas. Whether I’m helping a colleague personalize instruction with Google tools, designing a station rotation for science, or brainstorming a creative formative check in ELA, I’m constantly learning alongside other educators. And I want to document and share that learning here.

🌟 What You Can Expect

Always Learning is a space for:

✅ EdTech Tools that work across content areas
✅ PD resources I’m creating and refining
✅ 1:1 coaching insights that address real classroom problems
✅ Lesson ideas that spark creativity and engagement
✅ Reflections on what’s working and what still needs work

My goal? To reflect on my learning and to empower you with practical strategies and tools that make learning more fun, efficient, and impactful.

🔍 A Few Things I’m Currently Exploring

Here’s a sneak peek at the kinds of resources and ideas you’ll see in upcoming posts:

  • Autocrat + Google Sheets: Automating personalized certificates, reflections, and progress reports

  • Screencasts and Podcasts: Supporting student voice and self-reflection

  • AI Tools for creating quick data visualizations or drafting standards-aligned questions

  • Canva for Educators: Designing PD handouts, infographics, and student templates

  • Curating a PD Toolkit: Slide decks, walkthrough forms, and facilitation guides for tech integration

🚀 Let’s Learn Together

I’ve named this blog Always Learning because that’s truly what this journey is about. The more I work with others, the more I discover that learning never stops and the best ideas come from shared curiosity and collaboration.

If any of this resonates with you, I’d love for you to follow along. Comment and share your own ideas. I’m here not just to post, but to grow with a community of educators who believe in the power of meaningful, creative teaching.

Let’s spark some EduMagic together ✨

Podcasting Across the Curriculum: Giving K–12 Students a Voice

Podcasting isn’t just for true crime fans or celebrity interviews. It’s a versatile, powerful tool for the K–12 classroom. Whether in language arts, science, social studies, or math, podcasting helps students develop research, writing, speaking, and technical skills while engaging in real-world learning. This fall, I’m excited to introduce podcasting into my classroom through a career exploration project, and I want to share some insights about the process and its potential across all subjects. Why Podcasting? Podcasting encourages students to think deeply and communicate clearly . It provides a platform for students to share their voices while learning how to organize their ideas for an audience. The medium naturally builds confidence, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, aligning beautifully with 21st-century skills and cross-curricular standards. Thanks to modern tools like the RØDECaster Pro , it’s easier than ever to record professional-quality audio in a classroom....

Engaging Parents and Guardians: A Partnership in Learning

Strong communication with families is more than just a courtesy; it’s a powerful tool for fostering student growth. When parents and guardians feel informed, respected, and involved, they are more likely to support classroom learning at home, advocate for their child’s needs, and collaborate meaningfully with teachers. Creating that connection doesn’t require elaborate systems or extra hours, just intentional, thoughtful communication. Here are simple but effective strategies for building a strong partnership with families: 1. Empower Students to Share Their Own Learning Student Self-Reflection Forms When students articulate their own growth, challenges, and goals, it brings depth and authenticity to parent-teacher communication. Consider using: Checklists where students rate their effort, understanding, or participation Open-ended prompts like “Something I’m proud of…” or “One thing I’m working on is…” Goal-setting sections to track progress over time Including these reflections in pr...
